Countdown to the release of the second season of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" has started
Madhouse reminded of the imminent return of "Frieren" with a new poster.
Less than a week remains until the premiere of the second season of the anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End". The broadcast starts on January 16, 2026, and Madhouse studio has officially launched the countdown to the release. On this occasion, a new poster with the characters was published - the work was again done by Keisuke Kojima, one of the new designers of the project.
The first season of "Frieren" was released in the fall of 2023 and quickly established itself as one of the most highly rated anime of recent years. The project has collected a scattering of awards and warm reviews, and the manga of the same name was awarded the Kodansha and Shogakukan prizes.
The story tells about a long-lived elf who, after defeating the Demon King, sets off on a journey with a new generation of heroes - not for the sake of feat, but to understand the nature of memory, time and human feelings.
According to insider Sugoi LITE, the second season will be noticeably more compact than the first: 10 episodes instead of 28. The news expectedly caused controversy among fans, but sources emphasize that this is not about restrictions. On the contrary, Madhouse is betting on the density of narration and the quality of animation - and, apparently, plans to release shorter seasons, but with shorter pauses between them.
