Massive Layoffs at Warner Bros. Games: Key Employees Affected

In late 2025, Warner Bros. Games conducted layoffs at its San Francisco office, as evidenced by posts from former employees on social media.

Among those laid off were the art director and design director of the studio.

Former art director Roland Herran wrote:

It's been an amazing journey, but all good things come to an end. Last month, I finished working at WB Games San Francisco - unfortunately, I was affected by the layoffs. Very grateful and proud of everything we achieved in 11 years.

Former design director Tony Perkins noted:

I really enjoyed working with the team in San Francisco, the project we worked on turned out great, and I'm proud of it. Unfortunately, the stars didn't align, and the game didn't achieve the success it deserved.

It is not specified which specific game Perkins is talking about.

WB Games San Francisco has been around since 2013 and has specialized mainly in free-to-play and mobile projects. Warner Bros. Games is now being considered as part of a potential deal to sell this part of the business to Netflix.
