Samsung Warns: Monitors, TVs, and Electronics Prices to Rise Soon
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Samsung executives announced upcoming price increases for monitors, TVs, and home electronics.
The reason cited is the crisis in the semiconductor market, which affects all manufacturers.
Samsung Co-CEO TM Roh stated:
The situation is unprecedented and will affect not only smartphones but also home appliances and home entertainment devices.
The price increase is directly related to the development of artificial intelligence, which consumes significant production capacity, reducing the supply of standard electronics. In recent months, prices for DRAM and NAND have increased by 2-3 times, and experts predict further increases in 2026. According to Omdia, the cost of memory for TVs has doubled compared to the first half of 2025.
Wonjin Lee from Samsung said:
Even with long-term contracts with suppliers, we will soon have to pass some of the costs on to customers.
The largest price increase is expected for budget and mid-range models, where margins are low.
