Crimson Desert from Korean studio Pearl Abyss is a massive game with a huge open world. According to marketing specialist Will Powers, review codes will be sent to journalists a month before release.
During an interview at the New Game+ Showcase, he said:
I'm giving people a month with the game. Please. I think you're going to need it.
The main goal is to give reviewers the opportunity to take their time and explore the game in detail.
Firstly, to allow people to spend time in the game, and secondly, due to the busy release schedule. I don't want anyone rushing with a review.
He noted that the world of Pywel is large, with many secrets and content, so rushing could spoil the experience.
Crimson Desert will be released on March 19, 2026, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
