According to insider Zuby_Tech, the PS5 PlayStation Portal handheld device is preparing for an upgrade with an OLED display. The new version may support a 120 Hz refresh rate so that PS5 games designed for over 60 FPS run smoother on the portable console.

The number of software updates indicates that PlayStation Portal is part of Sony Interactive Entertainment's long-term plans. A model with new hardware capabilities looks quite likely.

Previously, Sony added cloud streaming support for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. Now users can launch digital PS5 games directly from the cloud without connecting to the console. The feature covers thousands of projects, including Astro Bot, Borderlands 4, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Fortnite, Ghost of Yōtei, GTA V, and Resident Evil 4, as well as hundreds of games from the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, such as Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

The update allows playing on PlayStation Portal without the PS5 turned on and supports simultaneous use: one player streams from the cloud while the other uses the console for movies or other games.
