In an interview with the official Game of Thrones podcast, George R. R. Martin confirmed that he wants to continue the "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" cycle, which HBO is making into a series of the same name.
To date, the cycle includes only three novellas: "The Hedge Knight", "The Sworn Sword", and "The Mystery Knight".
Martin said that he still has many ideas about the wandering knight Dunk and his young squire Egg. He could write about how the characters grow up, learn, and become legends - up to the tragedy at Summerhall around 258 AC, that is, about half a century after the events of the first novella.
However, the writer emphasized that new stories will appear only "if he has time" and only after the completion of "The Winds of Winter" - a book that fans have been waiting for for about fifteen years. At the same time, Martin once again did not name any dates for the release of the long-awaited novel.
