BioWare Veteran Says Anthem Failure Did "Irreparable Damage" to Developers' Careers

The servers of the infamous game-service Anthem were recently shut down.

Executive producer Mark Darrah stated that (as he believes) this game "did irreparable damage to the careers of many video game developers."

Darrah is not confident that the BioWare team was able to recover from the failure of Anthem. He believes that this negative experience influenced much of what happened later:

Anthem did irreparable damage to the careers of many game developers, as well as the mental health of many developers. I think even the problems that BioWare itself has faced in recent years can be traced back to this period. I don't think Anthem is 100% to blame for everything that has happened since 2019, but it certainly sowed the seeds of damage that continue to sprout since then.
