«Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc» became the highest-rated release of 2025 on Letterboxd

The Letterboxd film platform has summed up the results of 2025, naming the most popular and discussed films. The absolute leader of the rating was the full-length anime film «Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc». The MAPPA studio tape took first place in four categories at once, ahead of recognized favorites of 2025, including Ryan Coogler's «Grief», Paul Thomas Anderson's «War of Attrition» and Joshua Safdie's «Marty the Magnificent».
In addition to the title of «Best Film of the Year», «Reze Arc» topped the lists of «Best Asian Film», «Best Animation» and «Best Directorial Debut».
Although the film directly continues the events of the first season of «Chainsaw Man», a different team worked on it. The project became Tatsuya Yoshihara's directorial debut — previously he mainly acted as an assistant or was responsible for the animation production.
In honor of this event, the Japanese and English voice actors recorded a thank-you video, thanking fans for their support and for making «Chainsaw Man» a part of world culture.
MAPPA also confirmed earlier that it is already working on the second season of the series, but the possible timing of its release has not yet been revealed.
