The developers of One Punch Man: World have announced the upcoming end of support for the project. The role-playing action game based on Yusuke Murata's manga will cease operations on February 27, 2026. The corresponding notification appeared in the game's official social networks.
Currently, all in-game purchases and top-ups have already been disabled in One Punch Man: World, and new account registration is closed. The application has also been removed from digital stores, but when you go to the page in Google Play through a browser, you can still download the game and continue playing - until the servers are completely shut down.
One Punch Man: World was released in January 2024 on iOS, Android, and PC. The project offered team battles featuring heroes and villains from the One Punch Man universe. Despite the popularity of the original manga and anime, the game failed to retain audience interest. The developers do not disclose the specific reasons for the closure.
The fate of One Punch Man: World once again highlights the sad trend of mobile adaptations based on anime licenses. Most of these projects do not survive the two-to-three-year mark. This list already includes games based on "Naruto", "Hunter × Hunter", "Tokyo Ghoul", "My Hero Academia", "Attack on Titan", "Black Clover", and others. Recognizable brands attract attention at the start, but weak engagement and player fatigue from monotonous gacha mechanics increasingly lead to early termination of support.
