Michał Kiciński is very surprised that Microsoft's operating system occupies such a large market share at all.

The owner of the digital store GOG.com and co-founder of CD Projekt, Michał Kiciński, called Windows "a very low quality product" and expressed surprise that Microsoft's operating system maintains a dominant market share despite its problems.

In an interview with PC Gamer, Kiciński noted that he himself switched to Mac, but is forced to periodically "fix his parents' computers on Windows", which causes him "incredible" irritation.

In the same interview, GOG Managing Director Maciej Gołębiewski stated that Linux is included in the platform's strategy for 2026. However, he did not go into details.

We see that Linux is dear to the hearts of our users, and we could work better in this direction.

The position of GOG managers echoes the growing interest in Linux among gamers, especially against the backdrop of the success of Steam Deck and SteamOS from Valve, which use Proton to run Windows games on Linux. However, Windows still leads: according to the Steam Hardware Survey for December 2025, 94.2% of players use Windows, 3.5% use Linux, and 2.2% use macOS.
