PC Gamers Get a New Launcher - for The Witcher Online Multiplayer
It's not just major publishers and developers making their own launchers. Fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have made their own.
In early January, The Witcher Online was released — an unofficial multiplayer mode for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The project is gradually developing, and recently Kornill (AlexDetto) presented a separate launcher.
The project is called "Simple Launcher for Witcher Online": it allows players to easily configure a username, connect to servers, launch the game, and select the DirectX version through the interface.
The Witcher Online mod is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. A licensed copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (next-gen version, patch 4.04+) is required to run it. Now players don't need to host their own server — the project has an official Witcher Online server.
