The third season of "The Last of Us" series is already in development, and the first sign has appeared that preparations for filming are in full swing. Actress Kaitlyn Dever, who plays Abby, posted a video from the gym where she performs strength exercises as part of her preparation for returning to the series.
In the second season, Kaitlyn Dever was criticized for not matching the image from the original game: the actress is of short stature (1.57 m) and fragile physique, which caused dissonance against the background of the storyline, in which the character has to solve many problems by force.
Now that the plot of the third season is expected to focus on the events from Abby's perspective — as it was in the second half of The Last of Us Part II — it seems that Kaitlyn Dever intends to approach filming in the best physical shape.
It was previously reported that filming will begin in mid-2026, and the release should be expected no earlier than 2027.
