Digital Foundry Confirmed a Strange Reason for FPS Drops in Monster Hunter Wilds
Performance issues in Monster Hunter Wilds on PC continue to receive unexpected explanations. According to Digital Foundry, one reason is related to DLC verification, but its impact is limited.
FPS drops only occur in the hub and only near the Felyne support stand, which checks for add-ons. Digital Foundry tested the "Less DLC Checks" mod and recorded a performance increase on a system with a Ryzen 5 3600. At 1440p resolution, ultra settings, ray tracing enabled, and DLSS in Balanced mode, the indicator increased by 11.4%.
At minimum settings, with DLSS in Ultra Performance mode and without ray tracing, the increase was 25.6%. However, the problem does not affect the main gameplay, monster hunting, and exploration. The situation is only relevant for PC and does not affect console versions.
