The new president of Nintendo of America, Devon Pritchard, made her first public appearance after taking office on January 1, 2026. She addressed the industry during the annual New York Game Awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday evening in New York.
Hello everyone. I am very happy to be here. My name is Devon, and first of all, I want to congratulate the New York Game Awards. 15 years of supporting the gaming industry, the opportunity to raise the voices, stories, and dreams of so many people. This show brings together people who share a common belief: every dream matters, and everyone deserves a chance to do meaningful work in games and storytelling. The Playing with Purpose program helps creators, programmers, writers, and everyone who dreams big to join our community and bring everything unique they have to it. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories, and learning about your journey. And remember: like any good video game character, you are participating in an adventure, and every step you take matters. Yes, there are tough bosses ahead, but there are always good friends nearby to support you, and good rewards for those who don't give up.
Devon Pritchard has been with Nintendo for 20 years. Prior to her appointment, she served as Executive Vice President of Revenue, Marketing, and Consumer Experience. She is now also a member of the Nintendo of America Board of Directors.
