The snowstorm that hit Kamchatka in early January 2026 was one of the strongest in the last 30 years. The Sea of Okhotsk cyclones brought extreme precipitation: in December 2025, more than 370 mm of snow fell in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (316% of the norm), and in the first half of January alone, another 164 mm (149% of the norm) was added. The height of snowdrifts in the city in some places reached 1.3–1.6 meters, and in some areas — much more.
Against the backdrop of bad weather, fans of "World of Tanks" from Kamchatka set a record: local tankers conducted more than 230,000 battles — significantly more than in the first week of the holidays, when the absolute peak of online activity in the game is usually observed.
