Argentine Developer Came to Pikabu Because of His Game's Popularity in Russia - and Was Shocked by the Response
An indie developer from Argentina named Axel noticed that his game Dilemma's Steam page was getting an unusually high number of views from Russia. Intrigued by the statistics, he decided to directly address the Russian-speaking audience and published a post on Pikabu.
Axel said that he is developing a psychological horror game called Dilemma about bioethical dilemmas, in which the player does not treat patients, but decides their fate. The project is only available in English, but the interest from Russian users turned out to be so high that the developer asked for advice — whether to add Russian without a budget for professional localization.
The audience's reaction exceeded expectations: the post garnered hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of comments. According to Axel, he is shocked by the support and admitted that he doesn't have time to answer everyone, but he reads every message.
As a result, the developer decided to add Russian to Dilemma by the release — even if it's machine translation at the start. He also promised an honest regional price and announced that the demo version will be released in February. Dilemma is scheduled for release in April 2026.
