Christopher Judge, who voiced Kratos in God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, commented on the casting of Amazon's God of War series.
In a video published by Fan Expo HQ, the actor addressed the audience and spoke about the choice of Ryan Hurst. According to Judge, he is completely satisfied with the studio's decision and trusts the new performer of the role.
«I just wanted whoever they chose to play Kratos to love, cherish, and respect him as much as we all do. And with Ryan Hurst, they nailed it. It's a magnificent choice. He's not only a great actor, but he's a wonderful person, and a gamer who's been playing God of War from the very beginning. So bravo. You got a great Kratos for live-action. Show them what you got, Ryan».
The plot of the series will be based on the Scandinavian saga that began with God of War (2018) and will focus on the journey of Kratos and his son Atreus. The project immediately received an order for two seasons. Ronald D. Moore is the showrunner, and Frederick E. O. Toye is directing the first episodes. The series will also feature Teresa Palmer as Sif and Max Parker as Heimdall.
There is no exact premiere date yet, but filming should begin in the coming months.
