Lucasfilm has released the official trailer for the animated series \"Star Wars: Darth Maul – Lord of the Shadows,\" dedicated to one of the saga's most charismatic antagonists.
The show takes place a year after the end of \"The Clone Wars.\" Having survived defeat and loss of influence, Darth Maul emerges from the shadows again, gathers strength, and tries to rebuild his own criminal syndicate. In the trailer, he clashes with Inquisitor Marrok and also takes a new apprentice under his wing, whose name is currently being kept secret.
Sam Witwer returned to the role of Maul. The actor was not limited to voice acting and participated in the work on the series. According to Lucasfilm Animation Vice President Athena Portillo, Witwer helped finalize the script and made sure to reveal the full depth of the character's personality.
\"We're going to learn something new about this character. He has some traits that you wouldn't think he has, but that are quite explained by what he's been through.\"
The premiere of \"Darth Maul: Lord of the Shadows\" will take place on April 6, 2026 on Disney+.
