Sophie Turner has decided to take a fresh look at the image of Lara Croft. In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, the actress said that in the Tomb Raider series from Amazon Prime Video, her character will move away from the usual image that has developed since the early games and film adaptations. According to Turner, the emphasis has shifted from appearance to Lara's inner world and motivation.
«It's about her — about her story and what drives her. And not about what many people love her for — how "hot" she is in games and movies. It's important for me to show another side. She is incredibly capable and not shy about it. Lara doesn't hide her strengths.»
The interviewer separately clarifies that, according to the actress, her version of Lara Croft will not be a "sex bomb," and jokingly adds that viewers will not see any "sharp" breasts.
The actress also said that preparing for filming was physically exhausting, but at the same time it gave her confidence. If earlier, according to her, in a dangerous situation she would just grab the children and try to run away, now the instinct tells her to "punch in the face."
