NVIDIA Halts GeForce RTX 5060 Production Due to High Demand for AI Chips - Rumor
The AI industry continues to put pressure on the PC component market. Amidst memory shortages, there have been reports of a virtual "freeze" on the RTX 5060 Ti and 5070 Ti, as well as a pause in the launch of the next generation of gaming consoles. Now, according to well-known insider Moore’s Law Is Dead, NVIDIA plans to reduce production of the GeForce RTX 5060.
It is reported that «the 5060 will effectively be unavailable for the next six months», as the company has accumulated a large number of orders for AI accelerators and is forced to suspend almost all production of the RTX 50 line in order to fulfill contracts with AI clients.
Previously, rumors of production cuts for the RTX 5060 Ti and 5070 Ti mainly concerned versions with 16 GB of video memory, while models with 8 GB were supposedly to remain available throughout 2026. However, now, according to sources, the 8 GB variants are also affected.
