The Hollywood Reporter reports that work on the second season of the series "It: Welcome to Derry" is already underway — despite the fact that HBO Max has not yet officially announced the project's renewal.
Earlier, sources close to the production hinted that the sequel will unfold in 1935 and will focus on another bloody episode from the history of Derry — the massacre of the Bradley gang, first mentioned in Stephen King's books and in the first season of the series. This storyline should show in more detail how the evil embodied by Pennywise penetrates the life of the city and pushes its inhabitants to monstrous acts.
Information about the second season surfaced in a report by The Hollywood Reporter dedicated to the film about Batman and his son, "The Brave and the Bold." Andrés Muschietti is still listed as the director of the film, but, as the publication notes, after the "powerful success" of "It: Welcome to Derry," the director has become one of the most sought-after directors within Warner Bros. Therefore, his further participation in the film directly depends on the studio's workload and priorities.
