A First Look at Thrag and Universa in Invincible Season 4 - New Stills Released
The creators introduce viewers to new faces before the show returns to air.
Prime Video has released new images from the fourth season of the animated series "Invincible," based on Robert Kirkman's comics. In addition to familiar characters, the new stills feature a debutant — the villain Thrag, voiced by Lee Pace. Thrag is the Grand Regent of the Viltrum Empire and one of Mark Grayson's strongest adversaries in the original comics.
Another addition to the cast is Danai Gurira ("Black Panther"), who voices Universa — a warrior from a distant galaxy whose origin story has not yet been fully revealed in the comics. Presumably, the character will also act as an antagonist.
Robert Kirkman has confirmed that the fourth season will partially deviate from the comic canon. In particular, the authors intend to reveal the storyline of Detective Damien Darkblood, who returned in the finale of the third season. According to Kirkman, the writers are preparing a real "journey to hell."
This plot was planned during the work on the comics, but it was never implemented — there was simply no suitable moment for it then. As Kirkman noted, "in any superhero story, sooner or later there is a chapter where they go to hell and fight the devil." It is not yet clear whether this journey will take place in the fourth season or whether it will only be a bridge to its implementation in the fifth.
"Invincible" will return to air in March 2026. The exact premiere date has not yet been announced, but the series has already been renewed for a fifth season.
