Jensen Ackles has once again reiterated his desire to play Batman in the new DC cinematic universe. At a fan meeting in Las Vegas, the actor confirmed that the role of the Dark Knight remains one of the most desired for him. Answering a question about the characters he would like to portray on screen, Ackles said:
«Yes, someone there shouted “Batman” — and it’s true, it’s my dream. But in general, I have several options: Batman, Wyatt Earp, and Robin Hood. These types of characters».
At the same time, Ackles is far from a newcomer to the DC universe. He has already voiced Bruce Wayne in the trilogy of animated films "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths", as well as in other projects, including "Legion of Super-Heroes" and "Batman: The Long Halloween."
The prospects for the appearance of a new Batman within the DCU remain unclear. The film "The Brave and the Bold", which should present an updated version of the hero, is still far from the start of production. According to media reports, screenwriter Christina Hodson has been working on the script for a film about Batman and his son Damian since last fall, but the film is not expected to be released until 2028.
