The first trailer for NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE -OVERTURE- has appeared online — a special theatrical version of the anime based on the visual novel NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE about a streamer with a split personality. The project is a full-length film that will have a limited theatrical release in March and will serve as a prologue to the anime series, scheduled for April 2026. It is not yet specified whether OVERTURE will be a compilation of the first episodes or a completely independent work.
Simultaneously with the trailer, the authors presented an updated image of the main character — Ame-chan, a girl hiding behind the internet idol OMGkawaiiAngel. It is in this form that the character will appear in the anime version.
The anime is being produced by Yostar Pictures studio, which previously worked on the adaptations of Arknights and Blue Archive. The project is directed by Masaoki Nakajima, who previously directed a short film based on NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE and participated in the creation of the anime "Синий архив" and "Труська, Чулко и пресвятой Подвяз". The musical accompaniment is written by Aiobahn +81, Sasuke Haraguchi and DÉ DÉ MOUSE, who previously worked on the original game. Nyalra, the creator of the universe, is the screenwriter of the anime, but he is currently suspended from promoting the project due to a conflict with the publisher.
