Highguard authors removed mention of "creators of Apex Legends and Titanfall" and denied connection with Dr Disrespect
The developers faced questions because of Dr Disrespect.
The free-to-play shooter Highguard was positioned as "a game from the creators of Apex Legends and Titanfal." However, something happened recently.
For some reason, on the day of release, the description of Highguard was changed, removing the fragment mentioning these two games — a corresponding entry appeared in the SteamDB database:
It is assumed that Electronic Arts lawyers may have paid attention to this point and asked the authors of Highguard to remove mention of the Apex Legends and Titanfal franchises (they belong to EA).
A representative of the Highguard team denied the connection of the developers with the scandalous streamer Dr Disrespect — he had previously published a photo of a Highguard badge, allegedly he attended an event for bloggers and the press. However, in reality it was a fake.
The launch of Highguard was not very smooth — the project receives mostly negative reviews on Steam.
