Hardware Unboxed Debunks Windows 11 Gaming Performance Myth
Windows 11 is often considered "laggy" compared to Windows 10, but tests show a different picture.
Hardware Unboxed has found that Windows 11 is now a better choice for gamers than Windows 10 — even with Microsoft's imposed features like Copilot.
In the current version of Windows 11 with the 25H2 update, the system demonstrates an advantage that increases with resolution. In 4K, Windows 11 showed an average of 141 fps, while Windows 10 showed 134 fps. In 1440p, the difference is also in favor of the new OS: 194 fps versus 185 fps.
The turning point came after the release of the 24H2 update for Windows 11. From that moment on, the system noticeably sped up in games, especially in conjunction with AMD processors, and began to outperform Windows 10, as confirmed by Hardware Unboxed tests.
Microsoft has already announced further optimizations for Windows 11, including improvements to the scheduler. Their impact on gaming performance will become clear closer to 2026.
