Sony hasn't forgotten about the old consoles and continues to support them.
At the end of January, Sony released a firmware update for the PlayStation 5. The developers have not forgotten about the old consoles either, an update is also available for the PS4.
However, this time PlayStation 4 owners are not happy, but are sounding the alarm. Instead of the traditional "performance improvements", they were offered to install firmware that included some security-related bug fixes.
Members of the PlayStation 4 "hacking" community are urging not to install the January update — they fear that Sony developers have closed the loopholes they need.
There are also calls to leave the PS4 alone and no longer release updates for the console.
