Steam Deck Receives Proton Update to Version 10.0-4: Game Fixes and Faster Loading
Valve has released a stable version of Proton 10.0-4 for Steam Deck and Linux gamers. The update is based on tests in the Experimental channel and fixes key errors, expanding the list of games available to run.
Now Metal Slug: Awakening, Summoners War: RUSH, and Distant Worlds 2 work seamlessly on Steam Deck. "Regressions" from previous versions have also been fixed: classics like Chrono Trigger (screen flickering) and Lost Planet: Extreme Condition are fully playable again.
Ubisoft and Microsoft fans will be especially pleased. The patch fixes HDR issues in Far Cry 5 on OLED, errors when launching Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and accelerates the loading of Xbox Game Studios games, including Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Haptic feedback for DualSense controllers has been improved.
The update installs automatically if Proton 10 is already on Steam Deck; otherwise, it can be checked manually via the system menu. Valve continues to improve platform support, making Linux increasingly comfortable for gaming.
