Pokémon Get a Permanent Address in Japan. This Is What Their New Home Looks Like

Previously, Pokémon appeared in Japanese amusement parks only as part of temporary projects. Now the format is changing.

On February 6, 2026, PokePark Kanto will open in the Yomiuriland amusement park on the outskirts of Tokyo — the first permanent Pokémon theme park in Japan.

The IGN editorial team visited the site and showed the space with hundreds of Pokémon and various attractions, including carousels.

Judging by the published video, final preparations for the opening are underway at PokePark Kanto. Previously, there were Pokémon-themed zones in Japan, but they were all temporary and eventually closed.
