Projects based on the Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive series are currently in development.

The Apple TV+ streaming service has entered into an agreement with author Brandon Sanderson to adapt his massive original universe, the "Cosmere."

Under the terms of the deal, Sanderson will be directly involved in the development of all on-screen Cosmere projects as a writer, producer, and consultant, and will also have the right of final approval on key creative decisions.

This format of cooperation is considered exceptional for major Hollywood adaptations: the author will have more creative control than, for example, J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter) or George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones).

As part of the agreements, the Mistborn series is being considered as the basis for a feature film franchise, while The Stormlight Archive is planned to be adapted in a TV series format. Blue Marble, led by Theresa Kang, will serve as the executive producer for the Stormlight Archive series.

Details regarding directors, cast, and release dates for the adaptations have not yet been disclosed.
