CD Projekt is on the rise: since January 2024, the company's shares have climbed from 100 to almost 300 zlotys. Investor interest is understandable: the next five years promise to be active for the studio.
According to analysts, the third major DLC for "The Witcher 3" will be released in May. It will open up new territories and build a bridge to "The Witcher 4," where Ciri will be the main heroine.
Analyst Mateusz Khrzhanovsky confirms the May release window, and a short marketing campaign is expected — the announcement and premiere may come almost simultaneously.
Indeed, the Summer festival takes place in the first week of June, but they could already show, for example, footage from the next game in The Witcher series there. If the expansion for the third game really becomes the start of the campaign, another trailer would follow its release a few days later. Of course, there is a possibility that the DLC trailer will be shown at the June festival and the release date will be announced there — in that case, the premiere could be in summer or in September. Such a scenario is possible, but I am more inclined toward May. Especially since last year there was a lot of talk about celebrating the tenth anniversary of The Witcher 3. When speaking with them, there was a sense that they were preparing something bigger, a real surprise. There was a gala concert at the Bolshoi Theatre, but that was a symbolic event. Perhaps the DLC had been planned for release for the 10th anniversary, but they simply did not make it in time.
Trigon Dom Maklerski analyst Grzegorz Balcerski believes that releasing the DLC before September or October looks safer so as not to overlap with the release of GTA 6.
CD Projekt is sticking to a strategy of "scattering information": new details will appear in short messages and financial reports. The first report will be released in March.
A favorable time is coming for CD Projekt investors, as there are signs that CD Projekt will soon surpass the 300-zloty mark on the stock exchange (the last time such a level was reached was in December 2020, immediately after the release of Cyberpunk 2077), and will also begin disclosing details about its projects.
