COLOPL has announced the imminent shutdown of the card roguelike Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, created under the direction of Kazuma Kaneko. The game's online support will end on April 22, 2026, less than a year after release.
Kaneko worked at Atlus for more than 30 years and is considered one of the key figures who shaped the visual style of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. In addition, he served as a guest artist in creating the demonic designs of Dante and Vergil for Devil May Cry 3.
Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter was released in May 2025 and at an early stage of development bore the working title Project MASK. The game combined elements of card strategy and roguelike design, offering procedurally generated runs, turn-based battles, and decks of abilities built on the synergy of cards and demonic entities.
Registration of new users will close on February 2, 2026; however, existing players will be able to continue playing right up until the servers are shut down. After online support ends, the developers will release an offline version allowing players to view collected Creation Jinma cards and Kaneko's illustrations. The shutdown will affect all current versions of the game, including the Steam edition.
At the same time, on April 23, 2026, KAZUMA KANEKO’S TSUKUYOMI, a separate offline version of the project, will be released on Nintendo Switch. It will be possible to transfer some visual content from the mobile and PC versions into it using a special code.
The exact reasons for the shutdown of Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter have not been officially disclosed.
