The Kinetic Games team has presented the Phasmophobia roadmap for 2026, describing it as the path to version 1.0. According to the developers, the coming year will be the most ambitious in the project's history: the game will finally leave Steam early access and be released in the form the studio has been working on for more than six years.
The key milestones will include a rework of player characters, the transition to Unity 6, a network code update, the release on Nintendo Switch 2, and, of course, the launch of version 1.0. The full release will be accompanied by the major Horror 2.0 update, featuring a reworked "horror component," expanded lore, and a number of other changes.
Throughout 2026, the team will continue updating classic maps. In the near future, the reworked 6 Tanglewood Drive location will return to the game, and later 13 Willow Street will receive an update. The reworks will affect the visuals, layout, and interactive elements. In addition, a completely new map will appear during the year, developing the ideas introduced in Nell’s Diner.
The developers also confirmed the return of the seasonal events Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye, and Winter’s Jest, and additionally promised a new limited-time event, the details of which are still being kept secret. Kinetic Games emphasizes that the published roadmap is only a guide to the year's main milestones, and additional details will be revealed as the updates draw nearer.
