Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer Iridium Studios have revealed the cast of People of Note, a musical turn-based RPG scheduled for release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The main heroine is Cadence, a young pop star who suffered defeat at the Noteworthy Song Contest. Realizing that a solo performance is not enough, she decides to assemble a band and sets off on a tour across the musical world of Note. Against this backdrop, dark forces are preparing a conspiracy to disrupt the harmony of the world. To save music, Cadence and her new allies will have to do more than perform — they will also have to fight to the accompaniment of their own songs.
The game features a star-studded cast. Among the best-known participants are Erika Ishii (Ghost of Yōtei), Joe Zieja (Fire Emblem: Three Houses), Griffin Burns (Genshin Impact), Debra Wilson (Star Wars Jedi: Survivor), and Erika Lindbeck (Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn). The main heroine Cadence is voiced by Heather Gonzalez, while her vocal parts are performed by singer LEXXE. The full cast list is available on the project's official Steam page.
Iridium Studios calls People of Note "the first full-fledged musical RPG where the combat system is built on rhythm and harmony". Players will have to choose notes and measures in turn-based battles, creating musical combinations that strengthen attacks or harmonize the team.
The project will become the spiritual successor to the studio's previous game, Sequence, where rhythm mechanics were already used in the combat system. However, People of Note promises a far greater scope — from songs recorded with live vocalists to orchestral arrangements and a visual style inspired by concert performances and music videos of the 1980s.
The exact release date has not yet been announced.
