Work on the game will continue in 2026 as well.
The creators of the co-op shooter about robbers, Payday 3, have spoken about the planned improvements.
They want to abandon dedicated servers in favor of peer-to-peer hosting (P2P) and will hold an open beta test on Steam in February.
They also plan to fix a number of issues this month; for example, they will abandon the criticized "Wi-Fi circles" mechanic, improve lock and safe cracking, and refine the shooting mechanics.
In March, they plan to introduce "quest lines." The mission system is positioned as an evolution of the old challenges and is intended to "add something new to the game while also delivering rewards and items to you, making the process engaging." Payday 3 developers also intend to make more active use of various heist modifiers.
In April, they plan to refine the interface with information about heists and rework missions — improving their structure, task types, and the element of chance (randomization).
