NES classics featuring Disney characters are coming to modern Nintendo consoles in an expanded format.
Atari has announced that The Disney Afternoon Collection will be released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on February 26, nine years after its debut on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The collection will include Capcom's classic NES games, including DuckTales, Chip ’n Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, and Darkwing Duck. In addition, the updated version of the collection will feature Bonkers and Goof Troop, which were not present in the original release.
All games have received modern enhancements: rewind, save anywhere, as well as Time Attack and Boss Rush modes with online leaderboards. The package is rounded out by a gallery with archival materials from Disney's vaults and a music player with the original game soundtracks.
The release on Nintendo consoles will mark The Disney Afternoon Collection's first return to the platform where, for many players, their introduction to these cartoon adventures once began.
