Nintendo Will Carefully Assess a Possible Switch 2 Price Increase Amid Rising Memory Costs

The company is not planning to put new price tags on the console for now, but is monitoring the market situation.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said during a recent conference call on the financial quarter results that rising memory costs will not have a significant impact on the company’s performance in the current fiscal year (ending in March 2026). According to him, Nintendo is better protected from this price surge than some competitors.

Answering a question about a possible price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2, Furukawa stressed that the company will “carefully consider this issue”, taking into account a whole range of factors:

  • the level of user adoption of the platform
  • current sales trends
  • cost structure
  • profitability
  • market conditions and other circumstances

He noted that at the moment no decision has been made on adjusting the price.
