AMD CEO Lisa Su confirmed the release year of the next-generation Xbox. According to her, work on the console's SoC is "progressing according to plan," and the company will support the launch in 2027.
This is not an official announcement of the console, but the signal for the industry is clear: Microsoft is preparing new hardware for next year.
It is worth noting that neither Xbox nor PlayStation has yet announced exact release dates for their new generations. AMD, as a key chip partner, confirmed that these plans are real. The industry is already discussing that Microsoft's next console may become a hybrid of a console and a PC, with an emphasis on the Windows ecosystem and access to different stores, not just its own.
The final details will have to wait, but given that the Xbox Series X was announced almost a year before release, the first teaser for the new console may appear at The Game Awards in December.
