Avowed is being prepared for release on PS5: Obsidian showed major innovations
The market situation has adjusted Obsidian's plans. The studio has confirmed that The Outer Worlds 3 is in development, and the studio is focused on the development of Avowed and the Pillars of Eternity universe.
The Avowed franchise continues to expand and, according to the latest data, is generating more audience interest than The Outer Worlds.
Avowed is ready for release on PS5, and all innovations will also be available to owners of the Xbox and PC versions. The release on the Sony console will be accompanied by a major update that will add a photo mode, a new type of weapon, New Game Plus mode, and previously unavailable game races — dwarves, orlans, and aumaua.
Obsidian shared more details about the innovations in a published video. A demonstration of the new gameplay and upcoming content begins at the fifth minute of the video.
The One Year Anniversary update will be released for Avowed on all platforms on February 17, 2026. On the same day, the game will become available on PS5.
