There have been behind-the-scenes changes in the film «Supergirl». According to official press materials from DC Studios, composer Ramin Djawadi is no longer working on the film — he has been replaced by Tom Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL.

Junkie XL is a long-time associate of Zack Snyder. His track record includes soundtracks for «Batman v Superman», «Zack Snyder's Justice League», «Rebel Moon» and other projects by the director.

The media notes that the replacement of the composer may be due to the search for a new mood for the film. Junkie XL's music tends towards a more aggressive, industrial sound, while Djawadi often works in a symphonic style. This echoes James Gunn's previous statements that «Supergirl» will be an atypical superhero film.

The main role is played by Milly Alcock, Craig Gillespie is the director, and Ana Nogueira wrote the script. The cast also includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham and Jason Momoa, who will play Lobo.

The premiere of «Supergirl» is scheduled for June 26, 2026.
