New unofficial information about the future of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has appeared online. According to insider James Mack, Marvel Studios has already decided on the key antagonists of the so-called "Mutant Saga." It will start after "Avengers: Secret Wars" and will become the basis of the seventh phase of the MCU.
The main villain of future films about mutants will be Mister Sinister. The character is planned to be introduced in the first full-length film about the X-Men within the MCU. Mojo, a representative of the alien race of the Spineless Ones, may also appear with him.
The insider also reports that Marvel intends to move away from the classic theme of everyday hatred towards mutants. Instead, the conflict will be built around political and military pressure: the governments of different countries will begin to view any creatures with superpowers who are not part of the Avengers as a potential threat.
Little is known about the X-Men movie itself. Jake Schreier, who previously directed "Thunderbolts*", has been appointed as the director of the project. The official cast has not been revealed at the moment.
