Voice actress Fariha Andersen, who gave her voice to the new Overwatch hero named Anran, has publicly expressed dissatisfaction with the appearance of the character she voiced.
I had to mourn Anran – between the image I hoped for and what we ended up with. The comic and cinematic Elemental Kin set a certain standard, an unspoken promise: we will challenge imposed beauty standards, this "Ozempic" chic.
Andersen also emphasized that Overwatch has always been considered a game that boldly breaks patterns and rethinks what heroes can look like. In her opinion, the final image of Anran "leaves a bad aftertaste" and does not look like the bold step that is expected from the project.
