DC Studios and James Gunn presented a new teaser for the film "Supergirl" during the Puppy Bowl — a mock "puppy analogue of the Super Bowl" that traditionally airs on Animal Planet. Most of the video is dedicated to the superdog Krypto and his first meeting with Kara Zor-El.
Judging by the teaser, the line with Krypto will play an important role in the plot of the picture. It is assumed that the film will largely focus on his rescue — similar to the comic book "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow", which was previously called one of the key sources of inspiration for the project.
Choosing Puppy Bowl as a platform for the teaser premiere looks not only symbolic, but also pragmatic. Instead of a multi-million dollar advertising slot on the Super Bowl, the studio received the attention of a wide family audience for significantly less money.
The premiere of "Supergirl" is scheduled for June 26, 2026.
