The project will be part of Sony and Amazon's expanded "Spider-Man" universe.
Amazon has announced that the Spider-Noir series will be released in the spring of 2026 on Prime Video. The project will be one of the major premieres of the season and will continue the development of the alternative "Spider-Man" universe launched by the animated franchise "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse."
The main role was played by Nicolas Cage, who returned to the image of the noir Spider-Man after voicing the character in the animated version. The plot will focus on an aging and disillusioned hero experiencing the end of his career. The action takes place in New York in the 1930s, where a former superhero works as a private detective and is forced to face his past.
The series will be available in two versions — color and stylized black and white, referring to the aesthetics of classic noir.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who oversee the animated "Spider-Man" trilogy, including "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse," as well as Amy Pascal, who has worked on the character's cinematic universe since 2017, are executive producers. Oren Uziel ("Mortal Kombat" 2021) and Steve Lightfoot ("The Punisher") became showrunners.
The exact premiere date has not yet been revealed.
