In its latest financial report, NetEase summarized the year's results and specifically emphasized the key role of artificial intelligence in its operations. According to management, AI is already integrated into the entire game development and gameplay creation cycle — from concept to release.
AI covers all stages of production: graphics creation, design, programming, animation, and quality testing. This integration allows for the establishment of scalable content production and the implementation of dynamic, AI-oriented game mechanics in a number of flagship projects.
NetEase CEO and Director William Ding noted that artificial intelligence has become a «core competence for development and operations» of the company. According to him, the technologies have already significantly increased production efficiency and opened up new formats of interactive interaction with players that were previously unattainable.
Financial indicators also showed growth: revenue from games and related services in the reporting quarter amounted to 27.5 billion yuan (about 3.9 billion dollars), which is 3% more compared to the same period in 2024.
