Relooted's New Release on Xbox Game Pass Sparks Controversy Before Launch

A new game has appeared on Xbox Game Pass - a controversial project that started exclusively on Xbox and PC.

Projects bypassing PlayStation consoles are rare today. With Relooted, the situation is different. The game was released only on Xbox and PC and immediately became available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox PC Game Pass.

Relooted is an Afrofuturistic heist game. Instead of a classic "bank robbery," there's a team, a plan, an escape route, and "loot," but the target is real African artifacts stored in Western museums. The player assembles a team—ordinary people from various African countries with peaceful professions—plans the operation, looks for ways to extract the valuables, and escape the scene as quickly as possible.

After the announcement and showings, controversy erupted around Relooted. Some players accused the developers of playing on stereotypes and putting excessive pressure on the theme instead of focusing on gameplay and the world. The topic turned out to be tough, and emotions accompanied the project's promotion from the very beginning.

Relooted is not a high-profile release, so the trailer helps to quickly understand the idea of the game: it clearly shows the concept, atmosphere, and pace.
