Japanese studio Kairosoft has suddenly decided to please mobile gamers by giving away one of its projects.
Kairosoft has made the mobile version of Game Dev Story free on Google Play and App Store. Previously, the project cost about 120 rubles.
Game Dev Story is one of the earliest and most well-known video game development simulators. The project has over 90% positive reviews on Steam. The PC version was released in 2022, although the game originally debuted in 2010 on mobile devices and has gradually become a classic of the "game dev tycoon" genre.
The player has to manage their own studio: hire employees, assign roles, train staff, and choose development directions. The team can include programmers, designers, writers, and sound engineers, and success depends on a combination of skills and proper planning. As the company grows, new genres, platforms, and even the ability to create your own game console become available.
