The French trade union Solidaires Informatique, representing some Ubisoft Paris employees, has called for an international strike on February 10–12. According to the union, at least 1,200 people joined the action on its first day, February 10. Most of the protesters work in France, but employees from the Milan office also joined them.

The union's statement emphasizes that the company continues its policy of cost reduction and layoffs, despite the fact that teams are already working with staff shortages and increased pressure. Employees are also unhappy with the lack of salary increases for several years, while highly paid management positions are being created as part of the reorganization.

What is happening is a reaction of workers to Ubisoft's "major reset," which the company's management announced in early 2026. As part of the changes, employees were laid off in several studios at once, the Ubisoft Halifax division was closed, the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was canceled, and the company's operating structure was revised. In addition, management introduced unpopular measures, including the mandatory return of employees to the office.

After the announcement of the restructuring, Ubisoft shares fell by 34%, which effectively means a loss of 95% of market value over the past eight years. Later, a voluntary redundancy program was launched at Ubisoft's headquarters in Paris, designed to reduce up to 200 employees, which was the last straw for workers.
