Teasers for "The Mandalorian & Grogu" and "Super Mario: Galactic Movie" showed one of the lowest levels of viewer engagement.
Participating in the Super Bowl did not bring Disney and Universal the expected effect. According to the EDO analytical platform, two high-profile teasers turned out to be among the outsiders in terms of audience engagement.
"The Mandalorian & Grogu" from Lucasfilm scored 104 points, taking 43rd place in the overall ranking and becoming the worst movie trailer of the evening in terms of engagement. The teaser for "Super Mario: Galactic Movie" from Illumination and Universal Pictures was slightly higher — 130 points and 32nd place.
For comparison, the leader in film advertising, "Minions & Monsters," received 909 points, and "Disclosure Day" received 475 points and sixth position in the standings.
Previously, Disney had already commented on the negative reaction to the "The Mandalorian & Grogu" teaser, calling it an "emotional reminder of the heroes." However, the published figures confirm that the audience expected more.
The premiere of "The Mandalorian & Grogu" is scheduled for May 22, 2026, and "Super Mario: Galactic Movie" will be released on April 1, 2026.
