Pirates of the Caribbean Producer Hints at When to Expect the Sixth Film

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is indeed in development, but the release may be delayed.

Pirates of the Caribbean franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer has commented on the status of the sixth installment and indicated that the project is progressing slower than the studio had anticipated. In an interview with ET, he noted that viewers are likely to see Top Gun 3 first, and only then the continuation of the pirate saga.

Disney still considers the franchise strategically important, but there are no specific dates for the start of filming or release. Everything will depend on when the script can be brought to a working state.

Last week, insider Jeff Sneider reported that the studio is in talks with Kristy Wilson-Cairns, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of the war drama 1917. According to him, she may join the work on the sixth part, but it is unclear whether it is a completely new version of the script or a revision of an existing version.
